TREATMENT OF CRACKS ON CONCRETE FLOORS USING CYLINDER AND EPOXY ADHESIVE SIKADUR 752

REQUEST

Treat dead cracks on concrete with a width of no more than 5 mm.

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

Material

  • Sikadur® -731: Epoxy glue ingredient 2.
  • Sikadur® -752 is an easy, low-speed, solvent-free, high-strength epoxy resin-based solution. After mixing, the product is injected into the cracks of the concrete to create a connecting layer between the concrete components, restoring the original strength of the concrete.

CONSTRUCTION

Step 1: Survey the cracks: Use a ruler to check the cracks carefully: length, width, crack depth. Mark cracks if necessary.

Step 2: Surface preparation: Use a V-shaped grinder to cut along the cracks of the top and bottom of the floor and clean with a brush or other mechanical means such as using compressed air.

Step 3: Fill cracks in the floor with Sikadur® -731 and attach plastic bowls over the cracks

- Fill Sikadur® -731 along the cracks on the floor, mark the locations where plastic bowls will be attached (distance between plastic bowls is 15-30 cm).

- Use Sikadur® -731 to attach the plastic bowl along the marked positions.

Step 4: Pump Sikadur® -752

- After Sikadur®-731 glue has completely cured (at least after 12 hours at 30o C), mix components A and B of Sikadur®-752 according to the instructions of the Product Technical Document.

- Apply Sikadur®-752 glue to the cylinder and attach it to the previously installed bowls. Pump slowly until Sikadur®-752 glue runs out in the cylinder.

- Attach the cylinder containing Sikadur®-752 to the same position and continue pumping until the glue fills the crack and cannot be pumped in anymore. Keep this cylinder intact. Pump pressure can be increased by using elastic bands.

- Attach the cylinder containing Sikadur®-752 to the next plastic bowl and repeat the above steps to pump until the entire crack is filled with Sikadur®-752.

Step 5: Finishing After completing the injection of glue and the Sikadur® -752 glue has dried, remove the cylinder and plastic bowl, then clean and grind off the Sikadur® -731 stuck on the floor surface to achieve a smooth surface.
